5. “Canada’s Forgotten War” 6 Months Exhibition

Organized the exhibition with the Korea Veterans Association of Canada Unit 26, Hamilton

at Hamilton Military Museum, Ontario Canada

June 25 to  November 25, 2003 (6 months)

Over 20,000 visitors learned about the Korean War

 

6. “Korean War Veterans School Visit”

& “Memory Project” and Lectures

Raised the funds for school visit (Secondary Schools in Hamilton and areas)

Inviting Korean War Veterans to schools.

Over 100,000 students and the general public learned

about the Korean War at the  with the Korean War Veterans.

since  2003 to 2014

 

7. “Canadians Our Heroes 1950-1953 Korean War”

HooJung Jones with Tom Somers, a WWII and Korean War Veteran

Researched, raised the funds and Co-authored 

They published the book on November 10, 2005

The first Korean War history book with many photos was written in English and Korean.

The book was forwarded by Prime Minister Jean Chretien in 2005.

Over 1,000 books distributed to Korean War Veterans and schools for free of charge.

The KVA Unit 26 R.O.K. Memorial Committee Invited 3 Korean War Veterans

and liaison from the Republic of Korea to visit the Korean War National Wall of Remembrance

at the Meadowvale Cemetery in Brampton

Korean War Memorial at the Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls, HMCS Haida in Hamilton,

Naval Veterans Monument at Spencer Smith Park, Canadian War Museum,

Pearly Veterans Hospital and  Rideau Hall, Ontario. 

They Witnessed the Honourable Senator Yonah Martin’s Bill 23-C “July 27th

as the Korean War Veterans Day” receiving Royal Assent.

18. “Koran War Veterans Travel Support”

Raised the funds to support travel expenses (Transportation and hotels)  for Korean War Veterans

and family members and caregivers to travel to National War Monument in Ottawa

to attend the Korean War Commemorative events.

Assisted a Korean War Veteran and family members to travel (Airfares transportation and food) 

to Niagara Falls to attend the “Korean War Gapeyong Battle Victory” unveiling ceremony.

  Sent the wreath to the KVA unit 26 and KVA 15 Korean War Veterans’ funerals.
